Baggage handler John Smeaton has come under attack from the other heroes who helped foil the alleged Glasgow Airport terror attack.
Mr Smeaton was branded "a fake" by one of the men who helped tackle suspects from a burning Jeep which crashed into the airport last June.
The row was sparked by Alex McIlveen, who tore a tendon in his foot while kicking burning Kafeel Ahmed, who later died.
McIlveen, from Glasgow, said: “Smeaton is milking the whole thing for as much as he can get and it makes me sick.
“The only reason Smeaton got so much attention is because of what he said about Glasgow not tolerating terrorists.”
31-year-old Smeaton collected a Queen’s Gallantry Medal this month for delivering a karate kick to one of the terrorists and pulling an injured man away from their burning Jeep.
His warning to would-be terrorists that “Glasgow doesn’t accept this…we’ll set aboot ye” sparked a chain of events that led to him being feted in New York, Scotland and England.
The Scot reacted angrily to the claims he exaggerated his role.
I don’t know who kicked who that day but Smeaton’s words will go down in folklore.
